AM Green Technology and Solutions B.V., a subsidiary of AM Green Group, an energy transition solution provider, announced the acquisition of Chempolis Oy and Fortum 3 B.V.

This move strengthens AM Green's standing in the bio-refinery industry while stepping up its efforts to lead the decarbonization movement in several industries, including aviation, fuels, and chemicals.

The acquisition of Chempolis Oy, a pioneer in lignocellulosic feedstock processing, brings over 15 years of research and technology expertise in processing second-generation (2G) waste feedstocks into high-value green products, such as ethanol, furfural, and pure lignin.

This technology aligns with AM Green's ambition to be at the forefront of global industrial decarbonization.

Anil Chalamalasetty, the Group Chairman of AM Green, said, "We are excited to partner with Chempolis to advance the processing of 2G ligno-cellulosic feedstocks.

He added, “This highlights our commitment to develop innovative, technology enabled solutions to establish large-scale bio refineries that utilize multiple feedstocks & produce high-value green products enabling global decarbonization in aviation, fuels, chemicals, and other industrial sectors."

By licensing Chempolis's technology, AM Green hopes to create a global biorefinery ecosystem as part of its expansion strategy.

This approach would promote biorefinery operations globally and expedite the transition to a low-carbon economy.

By 2027, AM Green intends to have invested about $1 billion to build more than 0.5 million tons annually (MTPA) of Alcohol-to-Jet (ATJ) sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plants.

These plants will contribute to the decarbonization movement by lowering the carbon footprint of the aviation sector.
