Better Energy Inaugurates its Studsvik Solar Park

Better Energy inaugurated its Studsvik Solar Park at an opening event alongside its partners. The park, located in Sweden, is expected to generate 25 gigawatt-hour (GWh) of green energy per year and provide green electricity for business enterprises in the country.
Located 100 kilometers southwest of Stockholm, Studsvik Solar Park represents Better Energy's inaugural large-scale solar initiative in Sweden, marking a significant milestone since the company entered the market in 2020.
The solar park will supply green electricity to several businesses in Sweden through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Vestre, Scan Global Logistics, and Nolato, each committing to purchase renewable energy for the next decade.
Through their agreements, these companies have played a crucial role in establishing one of Sweden's largest solar installations.
Ahead of the park's inauguration, representatives from the three companies expressed their expectations that the PPA would significantly enhance their sustainability initiatives and business operations.
"At Vestre, we're committed to supporting the shift to clean energy. By agreeing to buy power from this renewable energy project, we're helping to increase the amount of green energy available,” said Bjørn Fjellstad, CEO at Vestre.
He added, “Our goal is to be a net energy producer by 2030 through our own energy production and purchasing agreements with projects that create additional renewable energy."
The inauguration event emphasizes the central role of partnerships in Better Energy's strategy to launch renewable energy production. Better Energy has worked alongside its PPA partners and various organisations to bring the solar park to fruition.
Studsvik, the operator of Studsvik Tech Park, views it as a significant enhancement to the tech park.
The company has other projects in the pipeline, including a second large-scale solar park in Sweden, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
