Telangana to Develop 80-Acre Eco-Town Inspired by Japan’s Kitakyushu City

A Vision for Sustainable Urban Development
An 80-acre eco-town is being developed in Telangana as part of an urban project. The state government has established plans for the project, and the town is modeled after Kitakyushu city located in Japan. The government desires to develop a sustainable region that offers green technologies and healthier lifestyle options.
Eco-Friendly Features and Green Infrastructure
The aim is to have a blend of eco-friendly elements and modern infrastructure, where they both would work hand in hand; the design will be eco-friendly and will function to reduce its impact on the environment. The inspiration for this city will be drawn from Kitakyushu, the city known for its sustainability and environmentally friendly urban planning. The overall focus of the town will be on renewable energy, water conservation, and waste management systems, majorly the problems in current times.
The eco-town will have lush green spaces, the buildings in the city are set to be energy-efficient, and the transportation options will be sustainable. There will be a harmonious balance between infrastructural development and the utilization of natural resources. It is also said that if the project deems to be a successful one, there is a possibility that it might be used across different urban development projects in India.
