Tesla Signs 130 GWh Renewable Energy PPA with Zelestra

Tesla and Zelestra, a global renewable energy solutions leader, have signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to ensure the availability of renewable power for Tesla's operations. This strategic alliance will have Tesla procuring 130 gigawatt hour (GWh) of renewable power per year to fuel its increasing requirement for clean power.

Solar Energy Projects in Spain to Supply Power

The renewable power to be supplied under the 57 megawatt alternating current (MWac) PPA will be generated through three Spanish solar projects: Brazatortas I, II, and IV, which are based in Ciudad Real, Castilla-La Mancha. The three projects have a combined capacity of over 74 MWdc and will also produce 146 GWh of electricity annually. Additionally, the construction has already commenced upon the closing of the agreement, indicating Zelestra's quick execution.

Zelestra's Commitment to Decarbonization

Ivan Nieto, Zelestra's Chief Commercial Officer, was positive about the agreement, highlighting the firm's dedication to delivering customized carbon-free energy solutions to industries.

"We are excited about this agreement with Tesla, which will allow us to supply clean energy to the automotive industry, and proud to reinforce our role as a partner offering tailored, carbon-free solutions around the world and across all sectors”. Nieto stated.
