Unity Group Unveils World's First ESG Light Certified for Carbon Credits

Unity Group Holdings International Ltd, a Hong Kong-listed company, has introduced the world’s first ESG Light certified for carbon credits at the Carbon Credit and ESG Ecosystem 2025 Conference in Malaysia. The ESG Light integrates advanced energy-saving technology and offers exceptional energy efficiency. Operating at just 4.5 watts, it provides an estimated 89% energy savings compared to traditional lighting solutions. With a projected lifespan of 180,000 hours, the light could last approximately 40 years with 12 hours of daily use.
The ESG Light is a key innovation, as it generates carbon credits, which can be traded in the carbon market. This unique feature makes it a valuable financial asset while supporting global sustainability goals. The product is expected to play a significant role in reducing carbon emissions, further promoting Unity Group’s sustainability efforts.
Partnership with Selangor State Government for Carbon Emission Reduction
Unity Group has announced a partnership with the Selangor State Government in Malaysia for the Green One Day community programme, where the company will retrofit 6,000 apartment units with ESG Lights. This initiative is projected to reduce carbon emissions by 25 million tons of CO₂, equivalent to the carbon absorption of 630 million trees. Over the next decade, Unity Group expects to continue generating carbon credits, benefiting both their sustainability goals and financial growth.
