Equatic, an ocean-based carbon removal company, is accelerating its efforts to reach gigaton removal levels. The company has appointed new leadership and expanded its advisory boards. These changes align with its goal of delivering the world’s largest ocean-based CO2 removal plant. Equatic aims to provide cost-effective carbon removal services at less than $30 per tonne by the end of the decade.
New Leadership to Drive Expansion
As part of its next chapter, Equatic has appointed Edward Sanders as the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Sanders previously served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). He brings a wealth of experience in climate initiatives and a strong background in consulting. Sanders has also scaled commercial operations for a major aviation brand. His leadership will help accelerate Equatic’s expansion and growth as the company works to scale up its carbon removal technology.
In addition to Sanders, Jarred W. Guthrie has been appointed as Chief Project Officer. Guthrie will oversee the broader strategy for project development and will lead the company’s growth trajectory. His extensive experience in leadership roles in hydrogen and renewable energy, including a key position at Shell, makes him a strong fit for this critical role.
