ADB and Partners Launch Construction of Tina River Hydropower Project to Boost Renewable Energy in the Solomon Islands

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) collaborated with local leaders and project partners in the Solomon Islands for a ceremony marking the start of construction on the Tina River hydropower dam. This marks a significant milestone for ADB hydropower initiatives in the Solomon Islands. 

Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele of the Solomon Islands led the ceremony, joined by Leah Gutierrez, ADB’s Pacific Director General, and Stephen Ndegwa, the World Bank Country Director.
