BayWa r.e. completed the construction and operational handover of a 200 megawatt (MW) solar power project to Nevada Gold Mines (NGM), operated by Barrick Gold Corporation.
The 1,500-acre project in Northern Nevada will provide 260 MW of direct current (DC) renewable energy to NGM.
The completion occurred in two phases, with the first phase being powered in December 2023 and the second phase brought online in June 2024

While performing quality control, BayWa r.e. managed the project deliverables, which included installing solar modules and electrical work.
More than half of the project’s workforce, totalling more than 200,000 hours of local labour, were hired locally to support the growth of Northern Nevada cities’ economies.
Bradley Ferrell, CEO of BayWa r.e. Power Solutions, Inc, “We are thankful to Nevada Gold Mines for selecting us as a partner for this project. Nevada is committed to clean energy, and BayWa r.e. could not be more excited about having expanded our footprint in the state and created new jobs for Nevada families.”
