Brenmiller Energy Ltd., one of the world’s largest companies in thermal energy storage (TES) technology, has attained an important contractual milestone in its revolutionary TES project with Tempo Beverages Ltd.It also reported important financial milestone – 40% of the financial commitment by Tempo to the project. This is a major step for both Brenmiller and Tempo in moving towards sustainable energy solutions.
Manufacturing of bGen Components Set for 2025 Launch
Brenmiller Energy will manufacture the bGen™ components at its gigafactory and ship them to Tempo’s site for assembly starting in mid-January 2025. This marks the beginning of the system assembly process at Tempo’s beverage processing facility, with the goal of completing the commissioning of the TES system by the end of 2025.
Achieving Sustainability and Cost Savings for Tempo Beverages
The project will see Brenmiller replace Tempo’s existing fossil fuel boilers with a 32 MWh bGen™ ZERO TES system. Moving from fossil-fuel-based heat to electricity-generated heat, the new system will remove around 2,000 tons of heavy fuel annually. This would cut the carbon footprint of the company by about 6,200 tons of CO2 per year but also expects to save Tempo a sum of $7.5 million over the next 15 years.
