rPlus Energies, a renewable energy company, announced the Green River Energy Center, a 400 megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) and 400 MWh battery storage project in Eastern Utah.
PacifiCorp will receive power from the Green River Energy Center via a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA).
Spencer Cox, Governor of Utah said, “This project is being built in rural Utah, by rural Utahns, and for all of Utah. When rural Utah thrives, the entire state prospers,”Â
He added, “Today, we’re not just breaking ground—we’re building a future of affordable, abundant energy in Utah.”
This project, which has over $1 billion in construction debt finance, is anticipated to generate about 500 employees, with a preference for hiring local labour.

The Green River Energy Center is expected to boost Emery County’s economy in addition to supplying sustainable energy by boosting tax income, enhancing public services, and generating long-term job prospects in the energy industry.

Sundt Construction, a national contractor with experience in the Mountain West, is the project’s engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor.
Additionally, Tesla will supply the battery storage system, and EliTe Solar will offer the solar modules.
