Sungrow, an energy storage solutions provider, successfully hosted its Power Up Your Future ESS Experience Day in Milan, attracting over 200 participants across Italy and Europe’s energy sector.

Addressing Italy’s Energy Storage Challenges
The event focused on deploying Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Italy, supporting the country’s carbon neutrality goal by 2050. Italy aims to have 30% of its energy consumption from renewable sources by 2030. Despite reducing natural gas dependence, Italy faces challenges with grid stability and effectively optimizing renewable energy output. BESS solutions are crucial for addressing challenges in grid stability and optimizing renewable energy integration.
Mr. Fabio Zanellini, President of ANIE’s Technical Commission, highlighted energy storage’s crucial role in supporting Italy’s energy grid. Dr. Cai Zhuang highlighted Italy’s leadership in BESS installations, projecting 7.7 GWh capacity, over 30% of Europe’s total.
At the event, Sungrow introduced its liquid-cooled energy storage solutions in Italy, showcasing the PowerTitan 2.0 and PowerStack 200CS. The PowerTitan 2.0 suits large-scale utility projects by enhancing grid stability with its scalability, compact design, and energy efficiency. The PowerStack 200CS optimizes energy, reduces costs, and integrates renewable energy, making it ideal for commercial and industrial use.

Driving Innovation and Collaboration in Energy Storage
Sungrow’s event emphasized the importance of collaboration in energy storage development. Case studies included Penso Power’s Bramley Battery Storage Project in the UK, the first PowerTitan 2.0 delivery in Europe. Mr. Francesco Del Medico from Glayx Srl discussed challenges in C&I projects, while Sungrow’s Vittoria Gratarola highlighted the need for comprehensive management throughout an ESS project’s lifecycle.
