TP Solar Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) announced that it has signed a contract with the Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited, MSPGCL to supply 300 MWp of ALMM-certified solar modules for MSKVY 2.0 to be used for Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana.
Strengthens market leadership for ₹455 Cr contract
Worth around ₹455 crore, this contract puts the spotlight on TP Solar’s being one of the country’s premier suppliers of quality solar modules in the country. TP Solar will deliver ALMM-certified modules to various locations across Maharashtra by the end of the year. MSPGCL finalized this contract as part of its larger 750 MWp tender through a competitive e-Reverse Auction process.
India’s Biggest Solar Manufacturing Plant
TP Solar runs India’s largest single-site solar cell and module manufacturing plant in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. TP Solar also designed the facility to generate 4.3 GW of solar cells and modules a year, with inbuilt expansion capacity. As part of its efforts to develop the country’s domestic solar manufacturing capabilities, Tata Power has so far invested ₹4,300 crore in the state-of-the-art facility through TPREL
TP Solar equips its Tirunelveli facility with advanced TOPCon and Mono PERC technologies to manufacture ALMM-certified DCR modules using locally made solar cells. This goes in tandem with the vision of India in transitioning towards a Net-Zero carbon future by encouraging self-reliance through solar energy.
