The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has announced its participation as an anchor investor in Team Telecom Armenia’s inaugural sustainability-linked bond issuance. At a total nominal amount of US$75 million it takes significant steps for both Armenian Capital Markets and also in Telecom Sector.
Collaborative Investment in Armenia’s Digital Future
The EBRD is investing $13.5 million to join IFC, ADB, and Proparco to support Team Telecom Armenia’s bond issuance. The bond, listed on the Armenian Stock Exchange, is the second-largest issuance in the country’s history.
Funds raised by Team Telecom Armenia will be used for infrastructure improvements, expansion of 4G+, fiber-to-home services, and cybersecurity measures. The initiative also supports the promotion of gender equality within the company.
This project will also help in enhancing the telecom network in Armenia. It will enhance its strength and improve sustainability, thereby also facilitating progress in the digital economy of Armenia. The ambitious reduction targets set for the team Telecom Armenia target cutting greenhouse gas emissions to 40% by 2029.
Hayk Yesayan, General Director of Team Telecom Armenia, said, “This bond issuance marks a pivotal step in modernising Armenia’s telecommunications landscape in advancing towards a responsible, sustainable digital future,”
He added, “It is both an investment opportunity and a means to support the country’s telecom sector development.”

It is the successful continuation of our relationship with Telecom Armenia, and we are proud to contribute to the sustainability and resilience of Armenia’s digital infrastructure.”
