Black & Veatch, a global liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure group, announced a strategic collaboration with Baker Hughes, an energy technology company at ADIPEC 2024.
This collaboration will combine Baker Hughes’ LM9000 gas turbine and compression technology with Black & Veatch’s PRICO liquefaction technology.Â
Together, they are creating a standardized mid-scale LNG solution capable of producing up to 2 million tons per annum (MTPA) per train.
The solution offers capital efficiency and reliable performance for clients needing dependable LNG alternatives.

Integrating Leading LNG Technologies
Black & Veatch’s PRICO® technology, the first floating LNG liquefaction system to achieve production in 2016, has established itself as a market leader.Â
The technology has successfully seen six projects reach the final investment decision (FID).
This technology is well-known for its versatility in both floating and onshore LNG projects, making it an ideal choice for clients exploring mid-scale LNG options.
On the other hand, Baker Hughes’ LM9000, an efficient aero-derivative gas turbine rated at over 65 MW, features a 44% efficiency rating under ISO conditions.
It is suitable for mechanical drives and power generation in various LNG scenarios.
Alberto Matucci, the Vice President of gas Technology Equipment of Industrial & Energy Technology at Baker Hughes said, “Technology and collaboration are both key pillars in our strategy to continue supporting our customers with innovative solutions that meet their needs and enhance sustainable energy development.”
He added, “We are honoured to expand our collaboration with Black & Veatch and explore opportunities to combine our respective expertise for future LNG projects.”
