Clearway Energy Group announced that it has signed a 25-year-long power purchase agreement (PPA) with Puget Sound Energy (PSE) for the Haymaker wind farm.
The wind farm mentioned is a 315-megawatt facility currently under construction in Wheatland and Meagher counties, Montana.
Once the facility commences operations, the wind project will generate enough electricity to power nearly 116,000 homes annually, as per the announcement.
Valerie Wooley, Senior Vice President of Origination at Clearway, said, “We are proud to partner with Puget Sound Energy in delivering low-cost clean energy to their customers and supporting their ambitious renewable energy goals.”
She added, “Reinforced by the Inflation Reduction Act, Haymaker represents a major investment in central Montana’s economy, and we’re eager to work with the community through development, construction, and our long-term stewardship of the project.”

Construction on the Haymaker wind project is slated to begin in 2026, and commercial operations are expected to begin in 2028, according to the announcement.
The Haymaker wind project is expected to generate millions in landowner payments and more than $100 million in property tax revenue over its lifetime.
In addition, the project will generate hundreds of union labor jobs for the construction phase and site maintenance.
