Masdar, UAE’s clean energy company, announced that it has signed a power purchase agreement with Infinity Power, the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC), for the delivery of renewable energy.
The agreement, a long-term one, will see the supply of renewable energy generated by an onshore wind project located in Ras Ghareb, Gulf of Suez.
Upon completion, the wind farm will have a 200MW capacity and is projected to generate 810,000MWh annually.
As a result, it is expected to prevent 403,672 tonnes of CO2eq emissions each year, contributing significantly to Egypt’s sustainability goals.
