Elawan Energy S.L., a subsidiary of ORIX Group, has announced a new corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to supply Google with renewable energy from a 37 MWdc solar facility located in Hill County, Texas.
This deal was facilitated through LEAP (LevelTen Energy’s Accelerated Process), a framework co-developed by Google and LevelTen Energy to streamline the sourcing and execution of clean energy PPAs.
This initiative aligns with Google’s ambitious target of achieving 24/7 carbon-free energy (CFE) by 2030 across all the grids it serves.

The solar project is a significant part of Elawan’s strategy to bolster its operations in North America, underscoring its commitment to delivering clean energy solutions. As part of the ORIX Group, Elawan specializes in developing and managing wind and solar power facilities across 15 countries, focusing on Europe and the Americas.
Currently, the company manages 1.8 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy assets and has approximately 8 GW in development.
Elawan is recognized for its proactive approach to identifying opportunities and leveraging its expertise in development, design, procurement, structuring, and execution to maximise value and enhance returns.
With commercial operations anticipated to begin in 2026, this solar project represents a key advancement for Elawan Energy and ORIX in North America, where they already manage an operational portfolio exceeding 300 MW across ERCOT, SPP, and PJM regions. The company also benefits from experienced local development teams based in Houston, Texas.
