The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has announced a €50 million loan to Türkiye’s AKLease. This financing will support sub-borrowers investing in green projects, such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate resilience.
AKLease Continues Green Financing Initiatives
AKLease, a subsidiary of Akbank, is known for its ECOLease product, which provides financial support for environmentally sustainable investments. The loan from the EBRD will enable AKLease to expand this green financing program.
Companies in Türkiye seeking funds for renewable energy, water conservation, waste management, and resource efficiency will benefit from this support.

EBRD’s Türkiye Green Economy Financing Facility II
This loan is part of the EBRD’s Türkiye Green Economy Financing Facility II (GEFF II). The facility follows the success of its predecessor and aims to foster green investments in the country. The €750 million initiative will provide funding to eligible Turkish financial institutions, allowing them to lend to businesses focused on environmental sustainability.
