Just Transition

A “Just Transition” refers to the concept and process of transitioning from an economy dependent on certain industries or activities that may have negative social and environmental impacts to a more sustainable, equitable, and inclusive economic model. This transition is characterized by efforts to ensure that the shift does not leave certain communities, workers, or sectors behind and that the benefits and burdens are distributed fairly.
