Catona Climate, a global climate finance company, has announced a strategic partnership with Indigo Ag. Together, they will secure 250,000 carbon credits from a leading US-based regenerative agriculture soil carbon project.
This collaboration marks the largest single reservation of credits from Indigo Ag’s carbon program. It highlights the environmental, social, and climate impacts of regenerative farming practices.
Regenerative Agriculture Practices Driving Carbon Credit Generation
The carbon credits are generated through regenerative agricultural methods like cover cropping, diverse crop rotation, and reduced tillage. These practices help improve soil health, sequester carbon, and reduce emissions.
Indigo Ag’s project covers more than 7 million acres of row crops across the US. This makes it the largest broad-acre regenerative agriculture soil carbon initiative in the country. To date, nearly 300,000 carbon credits have been issued through this project by the Climate Action Reserve.

Partnership Benefits Farmers and Promotes Sustainability
Dean Banks, CEO of Indigo Ag, highlighted the importance of this partnership. He noted that Catona Climate’s commitment to high-quality, nature-based credits reflects growing market confidence in soil carbon as an asset class.
The collaboration provides farmers with sustainable revenue streams while advancing broader climate goals. It helps farmers adopt practices that improve soil and water quality, boost crop yields, and increase resilience to extreme weather events.
Top-Rated Project for Climate Impact and Ecosystem Benefits
Indigo Ag’s soil carbon project has earned a BBB rating from carbon credit ratings agency BeZero. This rating places it in the top 20% of rated projects, underscoring its strong climate impact and potential.
Tate Mill, CEO of Catona Climate, emphasized that 75% of the carbon sales revenue directly supports farmers. This helps reinforce their commitment to sustainable practices while creating a long-term financial model for all participants.
By partnering with Indigo Ag, Catona Climate continues its mission to deliver impactful climate solutions while supporting farmers and ecosystems across the US.
