Spiritus, a company specializing in direct air capture (DAC) and carbon sequestration, officially launched Garden One, its first sorbent production facility. The Spiritus Carbon manufacturing launches are critical for advancing carbon capture technology.
Situated in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, this facility will exclusively produce the sorbent material required for Spiritus’ direct air capture operations. These operations highlight the significance of the Spiritus Carbon manufacturing launches.
This production will start with its first capture and sequestration site, Orchard One, aligning well with the Spiritus Carbon manufacturing launches strategy.
Spiritus seeks to capture and store CO₂ from the atmosphere to promote large-scale carbon removal, following the goals of Spiritus Carbon manufacturing launches.

Strategic Location and Infrastructure Advantage
Mindy Ren, Head of Carbon Removal Infrastructure at Spiritus said, “Lee’s Summit’s central location and proximity to major interstates and rail lines mean that we’re never more than two days from receiving raw materials or transporting completed sorbent to any location in the country.”
She added, “This helps us to minimize the carbon footprint of our manufacturing efforts through optimized transportation logistics – and sets us up to keep that footprint minimal as we establish new Carbon Orchards in the years to come.”
Moreover, Garden One is set to manufacture a distinctive sorbent modelled after the human lung, enabling it to capture and retain CO₂ passively.
Spiritus has developed its sorbent for cost-effective manufacturing by focusing on readily available materials worldwide.
The goal is to reduce DAC costs to under $100 per ton.

Garden One marks an important initial step for Spiritus.
The organisation plans to establish similar facilities worldwide while keeping both costs and environmental impacts minimal.
Ward Development and Investment Company operates a new industrial complex that encompasses a facility spanning 37,500 square feet.
Spiritus aims to create 30 local jobs and support Orchard One’s carbon removal efforts by 2026.
This initiative will, therefore, enhance the workforce and sustainable development efforts in Lee’s Summit.
