Summit Carbon Solutions (Summit) has partnered with Mangrove Systems (Mangrove), a Toronto-based technology company, and selected its solution, Mangrove Nexus, as its primary carbon management platform.
This partnership between Summit and Mangrove aims to facilitate the digital measurement, monitoring, and verification (dMRV) of Summit’s biomass carbon removal and storage (BiCRS) project, projected to handle over 18 million tons annually in the Midwestern United States.

Summit will employ Mangrove Nexus to manage data from various sources along the project value chain. The platform will collect operational and non-operational data to aid the carbon accounting needed to satisfy regulatory and commercial reporting requirements.
The platform will facilitate efficient verification through independent validation and verification bodies (VVB) and streamline the issuance and serialization of carbon credits with carbon registries.
This system is necessary because it is important for engaging with government programs, compliance markets, and the voluntary carbon market (VCM).

Jason Cradit, CTO of Summit Carbon Solutions, said, “Mangrove Nexus is an important component of our technology strategy, supporting the commercialization of our project. The capabilities of the solution, combined with Mangrove’s expertise in carbon markets, make them an ideal partner for our project.”
The solution Mangrove Nexus is built to address the challenges and obstacles of data management and commercialization in carbon value chains, offering project developers transparent, traceable, and substantiated digital MRV, ensuring clarity for buyers, partners, and regulators alike.
