Trinasolar, a factory in Yiwu, Zhejiang province, has secured the 2023 Zero-carbon factory (Type I) Four-star Certificate from TiGroup.
This marks the second consecutive year that the company has been awarded the certification since it became the first zero-carbon factory in the photovoltaic industry last year.
The factory has adopted green practices, which reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, constantly improve energy management, and upgrade equipment and facilities.

In 2023, the factory achieved a 6.86% reduction in power consumption per unit product (kWh/MW) and a 6.18% decrease in carbon emissions per unit of production (tCO2e/MW) compared to the previous year.
TiGroup’s evaluation on July 19, 2023, assessed the Yiwu factory across six areas: infrastructure, the intelligent information management system of energy and carbon, usage of energy and resources, products, reduction measures of greenhouse gas emissions, and carbon offset implementation, giving it a four-star Zero-carbon Factory (Type I) rating.
The Yiwu factory is also a major production base for the Vertex S+ series module, for which it recently received Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) Norway and EPD International certification.
Trinasolar’s Vertex N 720W, Vertex N 625W, and Vertex 670W series modules were awarded Underwriters Laboratories (UL) EPD and EPD Italy certifications earlier this year
In addition, the company’s Vertex modules have earned Life Cycle Assessment and Carbon Footprint Certificates from TÜV Rheinland, for their low-carbon management across its products’ entire lifecycle.

Helena Li, executive president at Trinasolar said, “It’s an honour for our Yiwu factory to once again secure the Zero-carbon Factory certification. It’s a significant achievement, especially because this time, the factory has been upgraded from three stars to four, underscoring Trinasolar’s commitment to sustainable development.”
She added, “We’re passionate about ensuring that our modules and entire production cycle are as sustainable as possible.
Trinasolar’s “solar energy for all” mission is building a SOLAR sustainability management culture.
In the past year, it implemented a net-zero system and is working towards achieving carbon neutrality across its organization and operations by 2030.
