Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind (Atlantic Shores) announced that it has submitted a proposal to the Fourth Offshore Wind Solicitation (NJ4).
The proposal features projects strategically positioned to be the first to provide offshore wind energy to the State of New Jersey.
The announcement mentioned that the “unmatched maturity of Atlantic Shores Projects 1 and 2” places the projects in a suitable position to deliver safe, dependable, and sustainable energy.
This position is in line with New Jersey’s objective of attaining 100% clean energy by 2035 and installing 11,000 megawatts (MW) of offshore wind by 2050. Combined, these projects will produce over 2,800 MW of power, which will be sufficient to power more than 1 million homes in New Jersey.
If chosen, Atlantic Shores Projects 1 and 2 will lead the way for New Jersey’s offshore wind industry and facilitate the delivery of all future offshore wind projects later in this decade.

After engaging stakeholders for over five years and completing more than 40 environmental studies, Atlantic Shores Projects 1 and 2 represent a benchmark in delivering clean energy infrastructure with high certainty.
The submission to NJ4 outlines a resilient, competitive, and sustainable strategy that will bolster New Jersey’s offshore wind industry. This initiative is poised to generate thousands of jobs and accelerate billions of dollars in supply chain investments across the Garden State, the announcement mentions.
