Construction might start in 2025 if the power purchase agreement is granted, and full commercial operations are anticipated by 2029.
The project will be adjacent to Vineyard Wind 1 (VW1), the first large-scale offshore wind project currently under construction in the United States.
Building on its current renewable portfolio of over 9 gigawatts (GW) of installed wind and solar power across 22 states, Avangrid intends to increase its offshore wind footprint.
