EDF Renewables North America, a renewable energy company entered into a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) for the Milligan 1 Wind project.
The 300-megawatt (MW) project, which has been in operation since 2021, is located in Nebraska.
The agreement between the two companies is aimed at supplying Nebraskan communities with dependable electricity.
The project will assist OPPD achieve its goals for carbon reduction and renewable energy by supplying dependable and sustainable energy throughout the district’s service area.

With the PPA, OPPD and EDFare forming a new alliance that is in line with their objective to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 and double their generation capacity by 2030.
