The renewables arm of Larsen and Toubro (L&T) announced that it has finalized mega orders with “a leading developer” in the Middle East to build two gigawatt-scale L&T GW solar PV plants.
The plants will have a cumulative capacity of 3.5 GW and will strengthen the company’s commitment to sustainability by enhancing its renewable portfolio. These L&T GW solar PV plants will be a significant addition.
The orders also cover connecting to the grid, including combining substations and above-ground transmission lines for the L&T GW solar PV projects.

Mr T Madhava Das, full-time Director and senior executive Vice President (Utilities) at L&T, said, “The successive order wins stand testimony to our proven engineering and project management capabilities to meet the requirements in terms of plant performance, workforce mobilisation, safety, quality, and timeline. We cherish this level of customer trust.”
The announcement did not reveal any information about the developer. In addition, detailed engineering and initial construction work on the L&T GW solar PV project are expected to commence shortly.
The previous month, L&T announced winning a solar-cum-storage plant order in India. With the recent substantial orders from the Middle East, L&T’s renewable portfolio is set to achieve a cumulative capacity of 22 GWp (Gigawatt Peak), including both commissioned solar and wind generation projects and those currently in progress.
