Ocean Winds, an international offshore wind energy company, established a new partnership with Eletrobras, an electric company, to advance offshore wind projects in Brazil.
The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a ceremony in São Paulo, demonstrating their joint commitment to supporting Brazil’s renewable energy goals and fostering sustainable economic growth.
Elio Wolff, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Eletrobras, and Rafael Munilla, Chief Business Development Officer at Ocean Winds, signed the agreement at the Brazil Wind Power event. Â
This alliance combines Ocean Winds’ extensive offshore wind development experience with Eletrobras’ power generation and transmission expertise.

Ocean Winds has identified Brazil as a key market due to its vast wind energy potential and growing demand for renewable energy.
The partnership will help Brazil meet its climate commitments, boost the local supply chain, and support community development. Â
Eletrobras, which already generates 97% of its energy from renewable sources, aims to produce 100% clean energy and become Net Zero by 2030.Â

Ocean Winds has registered 15 GW of offshore wind projects in Brazil, covering states such as Rio de Janeiro, PiauĂ, Rio Grande do Norte, and Rio Grande do Sul, as part of its global 18.5 GW project portfolio.
