The State owned power grid operator of Poland, Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE) has created a comprehensive investment programme for the transmission network. The plan is for 2025 to 2034.
Poland’s energy industry is expanding. A massive amount is required to support its growth. By 2034, it requires investments in excess of 64 billion zlotys, or $15.40 billion. These funds are required to support the rapidly developing renewable energy industry of Poland.
Investment Plan Focused on Transmission Network Expansion
PSE’s plan is to construct 4,700 km of new 400 kV lines, establish 28 new stations, and modernize 110 existing ones. In addition to that, a direct current (DC) land line will be constructed. All these infrastructure developments form the core of PSE’s investment strategy and will modernize the country’s transmission network.

The plan or strategy has the intention of meeting the increasing demand for renewable energy. The strategy will ensure that Poland harnesses the potential of both offshore and onshore renewable sources.
Goals and Contributions
PSE claims that the new transmission system will increase the potential for producing renewable energy. Under the plan, Poland will be able to deliver up to 18 GW of power from offshore wind farms, 45 GW from photovoltaic power plants, and more than 19 GW from onshore wind farms.
Combined with other sources of renewable energy, the country’s total production capacity may reach around 160 TWh per year within the next decade.
The strategy set out spotlights Poland’s commitment to green energy and its role in promoting the climate goals of the European Union. In addition, the strategy will propel the nation’s role as a major partcipant in Central Europe’s renewable energy market.
Key Features of the Plan
The transmission upgrades mentioned by the PSE will also aid the connection of a new nuclear power plant. On top of that, the strategy will enable the commissioning of small nuclear reactors. This will ensure that Poland’s energy mix is diversified and energy supply is secured.
PSE cited that these would be critical investment areas in fulfilling energy demands for future generations. It will also steer Poland away from energy frm fossil fuels. The package will stabilize Poland’s power distribution grid and include more renewable energy use.
The Transition to a Sustainable Future
The PSE transmission network construction plan for 2025–2034 is a strategic element of Poland’s energy reform initiative. The plan is to meet Poland’s increasing demand for renewable energy and secure a low-carbon, sustainable future with an expenditure of more than 64 billion zlotys.
PSE’s dedication to a cleaner energy future is demonstrated by planned infrastructure improvements as well as the integration of nuclear and renewable energy sources.
