Pregis, a global provider of protective packaging, mailing, bagging, and flexible packaging solutions, has made significant progress toward achieving net-zero emissions by 2040. Starting in 2024, Pregis will match 100% of the electricity consumed at six facilities with wind power. These sites, mainly producing curbside recyclable paper mailers, will reduce market-based scope 2 emissions by over 4,000 metric tons annually.
As a Climate Pledge signatory, Pregis leads in environmental responsibility, advancing decarbonization and setting an example for the packaging industry.

Driving Decarbonization with Renewable Energy
Pregis is pursuing its comprehensive decarbonization strategy, a key component of this renewable energy initiative. The company is making progress toward sustainability goals by matching wind power with electricity usage at six facilities. The initiative targets facilities producing EverTec mailers, aligning with Pregis’ value chain strategy while offering environmental and performance benefits.
Kris Getty, Chief Sustainability Officer at Pregis said, “Achieving net zero requires bold actions. This milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility and demonstrates our investment in decarbonizing our operations.”
He added, “We are proud to be a steward for positive change within the packaging industry by aligning closely with the values of our customers and staying ahead of regulatory changes.”
A core part of Pregis’ sustainability efforts is its EverTec mailers, which are at the forefront of the company’s renewable energy and circular economy initiatives.
EverTec mailers, widely used in e-commerce fulfillment, adhere to circular packaging principles. Made from responsibly sourced materials with SFI Certified Sourcing and featuring the How2Recycle ‘widely recyclable’ label, they offer clear recycling instructions for customers. These mailers help reduce carbon emissions throughout their lifecycle, supporting brands in minimizing their environmental impact.
