ReNew, a renewable energy company in India, has successfully commissioned 750 MW of a nearly 1 GW solar project in Rajasthan. The project supports ReNew’s efforts to enhance the state’s energy independence and contribute to India’s clean energy transition. ReNew manufactures solar panels at Jaipur, Rajasthan, and Dholera, Gujarat, supporting the Make in India initiative.

Partnership with SECI to Power Rajasthan’s Future
ReNew has signed three Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) under the initiative with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The project will deliver energy directly to Rajasthan, reducing the state’s dependence on external power sources. While 750 MW has already been completed, the remaining 225 MW is expected to be operational by January 2025.
ReNew has invested approximately â‚ą21,000 Crore in Rajasthan through completed and ongoing projects. Under a Memorandum of Understanding with the state, the company plans to increase its investments to â‚ą62,000 Crore by 2030, focusing on clean energy initiatives. This strategy establishes ReNew as one of the leading private-sector investors in Rajasthan.

ReNew’s Vision for Scalable, Sustainable Energy Solutions

A key highlight of the project is the extensive use of locally manufactured solar panels. ReNew produces around 90% of the panels used in Rajasthan, with all manufacturing done within India. ReNew’s automated facilities in Jaipur and Dholera manufacture 17,000 solar panels daily, supporting utility-scale projects and urban rooftop installations. ReNew’s operations have created 1,500 direct jobs and as many indirect roles, significantly contributing to economic growth in the region.
