ScottishPower awarded Siemens Gamesa a £1 billion deal for turbines at the £4 billion East Anglia TWO wind farm.
Siemens Gamesa will enhance UK manufacturing by producing turbine blades in Hull, increasing employment from 1,300 to 1,900 positions.
The facility will manufacture blades for 64 turbines for East Anglia TWO, supporting the sustainable energy commitment of the UK and Scotland.

Windfarm to Power Almost One Million Homes
The East Anglia TWO wind farm, 33 kilometres off the Suffolk coast, is set to generate 960 megawatts (MW) of clean energy, powering nearly one million homes.
Siemens Gamesa will provide 64 SG 14-236 DD offshore wind turbines, each featuring a rotor diameter of 236 meters. East Anglia TWO will significantly enhance ScottishPower’s energy portfolio, aiding the UK in achieving its renewable energy objectives.
ScottishPower’s East Anglia TWO project supports a strategy to double UK green energy investments from £12 billion to £24 billion. This investment aligns with the government’s goal to transform the UK into a clean energy power.
Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the UK said, “Our mission to make Britain a clean energy superpower will fire up our industrial heartlands and break down barriers to growth in our hard-working towns and cities.”
He added, “It will strengthen our national security – protecting our children and grandchildren from the climate crisis, and impact this will have on their future prosperity.

East Anglia Region Central to ScottishPower’s Wind Projects
ScottishPower’s East Anglia TWO project complements East Anglia ONE, operational, and East Anglia THREE, which is under construction.
Together, the windfarms will supply renewable energy for over three million homes, boosting the UK’s sector.
