Suzlon Group, a provider of renewable energy solutions, has secured a contract from NTPC Green Energy Limited, the renewable arm of energy conglomerate NTPC Limited, to supply 1166 megawatts (MW) of wind energy capacity.
The project will involve the installation of 370 wind turbine generators (WTGs) utilizing Suzlon’s S144 model, each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW, at three project sites in Gujarat.
This contract significantly boosts Suzlon’s order book, which reached 5 GW as of September 2024.

Girish Tanti, the Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group said, “We are delighted to partner with NTPC Green Energy Limited, the renewables arm of India largest utility NTPC Limited, in our capacity as the nation’s premier Wind Energy OEM.”
He added, “This project will emerge as the largest wind energy initiative by a PSU in Gujarat, cementing the state’s leadership in renewable energy. Upon completion, it will set a new benchmark for future projects, substantially contributing to India’s energy self-sufficiency, economic prosperity, and NGEL’s ambitious target of adding 60 GW renewable energy capacity by 2032.”

The project will feature Suzlon’s S144 wind turbines and will be executed entirely in Gujarat.
Under the terms of this agreement, Suzlon will oversee the entire installation process, including the supply, assembly, and launch of the turbines, and will provide operational and maintenance services after the launch.
