TotalEnergies, an energy company signed an agreement with RWE to acquire a 50% stake in two offshore wind projects in the North Sea.
The two projects, N-9.1 and N-9.2 are located 110 km off the coast of Germany, and both have a capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW).
These projects were awarded to RWE in August 2024, with a 25-year license that could be extended to 35 years.
The acquisition strengthens TotalEnergies’ existing offshore wind assets in Germany, including the N-12.1, N-11.2 and O-2.2 concessions.
This combined 6.5 GW offshore wind hub will enhance synergies and reduce the company’s construction and operational costs.
