WattBridge Energy, LLC, an independent power producer, announced the launch of the Remy Jade Generating Station, a 384-MW fast-start dispatchable power facility in Harris County, Texas.
This facility, the sixth one commissioned by WattBridge in the last four years, can provide fast-start dispatchable power to nearly 2 million homes.
Eight 48-MW aero-derivative gas turbine systems from PROENERGY power the Remy Jade Generating Station.
These packages are made to ensure the grid’s dependability in all weather conditions by supporting dispatchable power deployed when the renewable energy source is insufficient.

Since the plant’s launch, WattBridge has been running 2,304 MW of dispatchable power generation on the grid owned by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT).
Mike Alvarado, the President of WattBridge said, “Since 2020, we have commissioned six generating facilities with 48 turbines and created the largest LM6000 fleet in the world. Now we’re ready to build more capacity for Texans.”
Jeff Canon, PROENERGY CEO, added, “A clean energy future requires a practical and repeatable model with proven technology that supports renewable development in every power market in the world.”

In addition, WattBridge has proposed four new projects to the Texas Energy Fund (TEF) totaling over 1,600 MW. This should bring the company’s capacity in Texas up to around 5,000 MW.
As with its previous plants, PROENERGY will deliver the new facilities as turnkey PowerFLX solutions.
