Iberdrola, a Spanish renewables company, announced that it has acquired the “80% it did not control of Balantia”. Iberdrola had initially entered the firm’s capital in 2019 via the start-up programme known as Perseo.
In the announcement, Iberdrola mentions that over the past four years, it has utilised Balantia’s technological capabilities in over 180,000 households and organisations.
Iberdrola acquires the 80% it did not control of Balantia, a company created in 2011 to develop energy efficiency and sustainability in companies, enable their decarbonisation, and reduce their emissions and costs.

The organization, headquartered in Spain and also involved in initiatives in various European nations, was chosen by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the VII Edition of the SME of the Year Award 2023 as one of the top 15 companies out of over 1,750 entries.
Due to their union, the two companies are launching the Net Zero Emissions Manager (NZE Manager) platform.
This platform aims to assist over 20,000 companies in Europe this year and, in terms of user base and impact, aspires to become the continent’s most widely utilized tool for decarbonization efforts.
The NZE Manager enables companies to efficiently manage energy use and CO2 emissions, crafting personalized decarbonization plans targeted for achievement between 2030 and 2050.
It facilitates the development of plans focused on emission reductions and cost savings, calculates CO2 footprints, identifies impactful actions for reduction, and provides dashboards emphasizing regulatory compliance.

NZE Manager also provides dedicated advisory services, recommending energy efficiency and decarbonization solutions.
It supports project implementation, ensures compliance with CO2 footprint regulations across various scopes, prepares energy certificates, and conducts technical due diligence.
NZE Manager also manages administrative filings and facilitates access to incentives and energy-saving certificates.
This platform serves all companies seeking to reduce emissions, including large enterprises mandated to develop and report emission reduction plans and smaller firms aiming to enhance sustainability across their operations.
