Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has unveiled Malaysia’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Quick Guide for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Published by SME Corp Malaysia, the guide aims to simplify ESG comprehension for MSMEs and was introduced during the National Entrepreneur and SME Development Council (NESDC) meeting in Putrajaya.
The initiative, led by the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development, emphasizes the importance of integrating sustainability and ESG practices into MSME operations, aligning with global trends embraced by large corporations.
The guide, comprising eight simple steps, helps MSMEs understand, set objectives, and report on ESG practices, focusing on fundamental indicators essential for business sustainability.
The ESG Quick Guide is available in Malay and English languages and can be accessed for free after completing the ESG assessment on SME Corp Malaysia’s website.
