Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has revealed its Environmental Plan 2025 (April 2024 to March 2026), which aims to address environmental challenges while fostering sustainable practices.
The company also introduced revised greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets for 2030, certified by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) to align with the Paris Agreement‘s 1.5°C trajectory.
Mitsubishi Electric aspires to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions at its facilities and offices by March 31, 2031, and across its entire value chain by March 31, 2051.

The plan outlines a reduction of 53% or more in greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and 2) compared to Fiscal 2014, with Scope 3 emissions reduced by 30% from Fiscal 2019.
Mitsubishi Electric aims for a 92% or higher effective usage rate of plastic waste in Japan. It has targeted a 6% reduction in water consumption per unit of sales in high-risk sites compared to Fiscal 2020.
The plan will be supported by the “30by30” initiative proposed by the Japanese government.
By unveiling Environmental Plan 2025 and reinforcing its greenhouse gas reduction targets, Mitsubishi Electric reaffirms its pledge to drive sustainable practices and contribute to a greener future.
