Oil India Limited (OIL), the oldest major crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company in India and a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSE), stated that it has joined the Oil and Gas Decarbonization Charter (OGDC) in support of sustainable energy practices.
This move aligns OIL with global efforts to reduce carbon emissions, furthering its mission to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2040.

Launched at COP28 in 2023, the OGDC is a project that brings together more than 50 oil and gas corporations in support of their shared goal of lowering greenhouse gas emissions from their operations.
By signing this charter, OIL has demonstrated its commitment to environmental responsibility.
It has aligned with global best practices for reducing emissions and promoting zero-flaring initiatives.

As part of its broader sustainability goals, OIL is speeding its efforts to cut emissions through increased operational efficiencies and investment in green technologies.
