Transition Industries LLC announced the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Inc. (MGC) to establish a long-term Methanol Sales Agreement (MSA).Â
Through this collaboration, MGC will obtain approximately 1 million metric tons per year of ultra-low-carbon methanol.
Transition Industries will derive this methanol from the Pacifico Mexinol project in Topolobampo, Sinaloa, Mexico.
Consequently, this project highlights their commitment to creating more sustainable chemical production processes.
Pacifico Mexinol Project
The Pacifico Mexinol facility will begin operations in 2028, establishing itself as the largest site for ultra-low-carbon chemical production worldwide.
It will produce around 350,000 metric tons of green methanol, along with 1.8 million metric tons of blue methanol each year.
This production will utilize natural gas combined with advanced carbon capture technology, emphasizing their focus on reducing environmental impact.
