LanzaJet, a sustainable fuels technology company and sustainable fuels producer, announced that it has received a strategic investment from Airbus.
The investment from Airbus will enable Lanzajet to upscale its capability and capacity to upgrade its “proprietary ethanol to sustainable fuel process technology”.
Jimmy Samartzis, LanzaJet’s Chief Executive Officer, said, “LanzaJet intentionally developed a diverse portfolio of strategic investors comprised of leading, global companies to ensure we have the ecosystem to scale the SAF industry.”
He added, “This important investment from Airbus supports the growth of our company, enabling LanzaJet to scale the production and deployment of SAF to continue working towards meeting aviation’s decarbonization goals and developing a more sustainable industry.”

The investment from Airbus is part of LanzaJet’s recent growth equity funding round, with aid from prominent companies across industries and globally, according to the announcement.
This investment is the latest among numerous others received in the last few months from players across the SAF value chain, including the sustainable fuels company and producer.
Apart from Airbus, it received investment from Southwest Airlines, Microsoft, Groupe ADP, and MUGF.

LanzaJet plans to utilise these funds to begin the world’s first commercial-scale production of ethanol-to-SAF at its LanzaJet Freedom Pines Fuels facility in the United States.
This plant will produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel from low-carbon, sustainable ethanol, setting a new standard for scaling SAF production and addressing the escalating climate crisis.
With projects across 25 countries and five continents, is expanding ethanol-to-jet technology worldwide, and crucial partnerships throughout the SAF value chain are essential to its mission.Â
