In a press release, Alcazar Energy Partners unveiled its plans to launch the biggest onshore wind farm project in North Macedonia with an investment of $500 million.
The onshore wind farm will have a capacity of 400 megawatts (MW) and 50 turbine generators, which will generate electricity sufficient to power around 100,000 homes annually.
The investment, exceeding $500 million, marks the largest investment made regarding renewable infrastructure. Once completed, the wind farm will also be among the largest in the Western Balkans region.

In addition, the completion of the wind farm will also increase North Macedonia’s installed wind capacity by fivefold.
The wind farm project aligns with the company’s goal to expand its operations in the Western Balkans by establishing the largest renewable energy platform in that region.
The financial close is anticipated by the fourth quarter of 2025, and construction will commence in early 2026.

Daniel Calderon, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Alcazar Energy said, “We are thrilled to launch a major wind farm project in the Western Balkans. It will provide North Macedonia with clean, affordable electricity and create local jobs. Alcazar Energy sees North Macedonia as a promising investment location for renewable energy.”
He added, “We look forward to collaborating with the government and stakeholders to build the country’s largest wind farm, significantly increasing its wind capacity. Our dedication to ESG principles and renewable energy development underscores our commitment to sustainable infrastructure in growth markets.”
The Alcazar wind farm project marks the second significant effort by the Dubai-based sustainable infrastructure investor to build the largest renewable energy platform in the Western Balkans.
