On this week’s episode of Bloomberg’s Zero Podcast, Tom Steyer, a hedge-fund billionaire, speaks to Zero host Akshat Rathi about the effects of former US President Donald Trump’s return to his previous position on climate ambitions for the United States.
Tom Steyer made his wealth by investing in distressed assets, including fossil fuel projects. He’s also a climate activist and a major donor to US politicians seeking to tackle climate change.
“I think the biggest problem with Mr. Trump would be that as he moves much more towards a selfish autocracy, trying to literally draw walls around the United States, as well as figuratively, that sends a message to the rest of the world to do the same” says Steyer in the podcast.
