On Monday, Air Products and Chemicals, an industrial gas manufacturer based in Pennsylvania, announced that it had secured funding to construct two hydrogen refueling stations in Germany.
These stations will be able to refuel various vehicles, including trucks. Air Products will build, own, and operate these high-capacity stations.
Hydrogen refueling stations are facilities where vehicles powered by hydrogen fuel cells can refill their tanks with hydrogen gas. These stations typically compress or liquefy hydrogen gas and dispense it into vehicles, similar to traditional gasoline or diesel refueling stations.

Hydrogen refueling stations are a critical component of the infrastructure needed to support the widespread adoption of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
The state of North Rhine-Westphalia funds the project, which aims to establish 200 hydrogen fueling stations by 2030 and transition heavy-duty transportation in the state to low-carbon alternatives.
As nations strive to achieve carbon neutrality, hydrogen, one of the most plentiful elements in the universe, emerges as a prime contender for transforming their economies.
