Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s government has given the green light to a €6.3 billion ($6.8 billion) package to support Italian industries’ technological advancement and green transition.
Under the decree announced on Monday, companies that reduce polluting emissions by at least 3% will be eligible for a tax break.

This initiative forms part of the government’s efforts to accelerate the utilization of approximately €194 billion in post-pandemic recovery funds provided to Italy by the European Union.

The approval of the decree follows Rome’s decision to revise its spending plan for projects financed by EU funds, a move endorsed by the bloc.
