To accelerate the fight against the $140 billion in economic losses stemming from climate change-induced extreme weather events, NVIDIA has unveiled its Earth-2 climate digital twin cloud platform.
This innovative platform enables the simulation and visualization of weather and climate on an unprecedented scale.
These simulations are designed to expedite the delivery of interactive, high-resolution simulations covering a wide spectrum, from global atmospheric conditions and local cloud formations to typhoons and turbulence.

By integrating with proprietary data held by companies within the $20 billion climate technology sector, Earth-2’s application programming interfaces (APIs) empower users to issue warnings and updated forecasts within seconds, significantly improving the minutes or hours typically required by traditional CPU-driven modeling approaches.
“Climate disasters are now normal — historic droughts, catastrophic hurricanes and generational floods appear in the news with alarming frequency,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA.
“Earth-2 cloud APIs strive to help us better prepare for — and inspire us to act to moderate — extreme weather.”
