The company stated that Renova, headquartered in Tokyo and with various power projects across Japan and other nations, has pledged to collaborate on a 50:50 equity basis within Mabini Energy Corp (MEC), the designated entity for the wind facility.
“Moreover, our collaboration underscores our commitment to fostering enduring relationships within the Philippine energy sector,” Basic Energy vice chair and CEO Oscar de Venecia Jr. said.
MEC drives the Mabini wind project, boasting an initial power generation capacity of 50 megawatts (MW). This capacity falls under the wind energy service contract the Department of Energy granted.
The service contract is for 25 years, including a five-year pre-development phase, and it can be extended for an additional 25 years.
