Ormat and SLB partner to provide integrated geothermal project solutions
Ormat Technologies, Inc., an alternative geothermal energy technologies company, has partnered with Schlumberger Limited (SLB), a global player in decarbonizing industry and innovating in energy systems, to enhance integrated geothermal project solutions.
The collaboration aims to enhance the “technical economics” of geothermal projects and ensure their sustained performance and reliability by providing developers with a full spectrum of solutions.
SLB’s extensive expertise in reservoir characterization, well-completion, and advanced production technologies are at the core of this partnership.
Ormat complements this with its deep knowledge of geothermal fields, robust project development capabilities, and excellence in power plant design, manufacturing, operations, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) processes.
The collaboration entails an equal focus on traditional and enhanced geothermal systems (EGS). As per the announcement, SLB will acquire a license for Ormat’s ESG patent as part of the collaboration.
