Ankara’s AŞTİ implements solar power plant project to boost sustainability
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality’s subsidiary, BUGSAŞ AŞ, is installing a Solar Power Plant at the AŞTİ transportation hub to save energy consumption.
The project involves placing 22,015 solar panels on 4,194 square meters of the roof, aiming to save approximately 6.9 million kWh of energy annually.
The initiative, part of Ankara’s commitment to renewable and sustainable projects, will contribute to meeting 50% of AŞTİ’s consumption from renewable sources.
BUGSAŞ General Manager Vecihi Halil İyigün expects energy production to commence in about 26 days.
