A breakthrough innovation in India’s nuclear energy industry, called ANEEL (Advanced Nuclear Energy for Enriched Life), is gaining attention.
This fuel is made with a combination of Thorium and High Assay Low Enriched Uranium (HALEU).
ANEEL has been developed with a joint effort from the United States Department of Energy (DOE), Idaho National Laboratory (INL), and the Nuclear Engineering & Science Center at Texas A&M University, along with CCTE.
Mehul Shah, founder and CEO of Clean Core Thorium Energy (CCTE), has developed and patented it.
India has the world’s largest thorium reserves, about 1.07 million tonnes, therefore, by using ANEEL it has a huge opportunity to put its reserves to use towards cleaner sources of energy.
